At its 12th session held in Kish Island, Iran, 09-12 March 2019, the Intergovernmental Coordination Group (ICG) for the Indian Ocean Tsunami Warning and Mitigation System (IOTWMS) decided to advocate World Tsunami Awareness Day (WTAD) 2019 among IOTWMS Member States with an emphasis on reducing disaster damage to critical infrastructure and disruption of basic services including ports, harbors, etc., aligning with target [d] of the SFDRR.
