The second ODINAFRICA training courses on development of an electronic repository of marine related publications from Africa (ODINPUBAFRICA) waParticipants Second ODINAFRICA training courses on development of an electronic repository of marine related publications from Africas held at the IODE Project Office, Oostende, Belgium. The course was attended by librarians from ODINAFRICA Marine Information Centres in Egypt, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritania , Mauritius, Nigeria, Seychelles, and Togo.

It was preceeded by a distance training programme during which the participants were given a series of exercises to familiarize themselves with the software and principles involved in development of repositories and websites.

Mrs Pauline Simpson made a presentation on copyright issues and the experiences of the Southampton Oceanographic Centre in developing an electronic repository. The types of publications to be included in the repository was discussed at length. The two Regional Coordinators (Josette Confait anf Cheikh Sakho) also made presentations.
